Highland Individual Speech Team Performs

On February 26th, the Highland Individual Speech Team traveled to North Scott for their District IE competition. It was a record breaking day for Highland as we have 7 performances advancing to State- the most in Highland’s history!!
The advancements are:
- Brendan Schnoebelen- Radio News
- Allyana Pokorny- Reviewing (The Wizard of Oz)
- Allyana Pokorny- Expository Address (The Czech Kroj and Iowa)
- Emma Smith- Poetry Reading (Am I Good Enough)
- Emma Smith- Expository Address (Struggles of Christianity)
- Zoey Robidoux- Solo Musical Theater (I Know Things Now)
- Emma Nicola- Solo Musical Theater (On the Steps of the Palace)
Other team members Kyle Whestine (Radio News), Katy Smith (Storytelling), Hanna Rees (Poetry/Solo Musical Theater), and Taylor Forbes (Poetry) had great performances in their categories as well!
These students are so amazingly talented! We invite everyone to come and support the students advancing to State on March 12th, 2022 at Grinnell HS.
